Estaños Matiena participates in the European project CIRMET

EMSA participates in the CIRMET project, led by TECNALIA and financed by the European Union, within the HORIZON 2020 Framework Program, whose objective is to design, develop and validate an innovative solution to provide energy and resource flexibility to Energy Intensive Industries. CIRMET presents an innovative and efficient solution, based on modular, versatile and intelligent process units for energy and resource flexibility in energy-intensive processes.
For this purpose, the CIRMET project is divided into 4 lines of action: 1. EFFIMELT Line, focused on resource efficiency and based on DIGIMET technology, a new concept of flexible and modular process unit for the treatment of industrial waste; 2. RECUWASTE line aimed at recovering heat from combustion gases and transforming it into compressed air for reuse in the same plant, also offering the possibility of storing excess energy; 3. AFF40 Line (Analytic For Factory 4.0), to improve the competitiveness of the processing plant, increasing energy and resource efficiency through the control and optimization of the process units; and 4. Reduction of GHG emissions thanks to the use of biochar (biochar) as a substitute for coke of fossil origin, which will also be tested in the EFFIMELT line. CIRMET is made up of 15 partners, including research centers, universities and companies from 6 European countries (Spain, France, Italy, the Netherlands, Belgium and Poland), such as: ARC, CEA Liten, Enerbasque, , Euragglo, Ghent University, Cementirossi, IZNAB, Katholieke Universiteit Leuven, Mondragon Goi Eskola Politeknikoa, Grupo MSi, Sidenor, Wireless Value, Digimet and TECNALIA.
